Some Common Thoughts: Day 1 Photo Viewing

  • Watch for your background because there can be conflicting images in the background.  There can even be conflicting images in the foreground.
  • Watch your lighting and shadows.  Sometimes shadows make your picture and other times it breaks them. :-)
  • Movement in photos is always good.  Look for parts of the photo moving off in different parts of the picture.  However, it creates tension if you have someone located at the edge of the photo looking off of the picture.  
  • Try shooting a little under exposed to help with the sunlight washing out the whites.
  • Position yourself either all in the sun or all in the shade.
  • Repetition of designs is great.  For example) horizontal, vertical, reflections, etc..
