  1. Claire, these photos are gorgeous! well done!!!
#1 beautiful simplicity with beautiful lines. The placement not dead center adds an element of design to it and the reflection, while symmetrical, adds beauty. Love this one.
#2 I like the placement of the horizon, the repeating element of the row boat with the boat/rock in the background
#3, again, good placement of the sea wall and the horizon on the 1/3 lines and the tall ships give a nice repeating element and create a place for your eye to travel through the picture. i like that the water is seen below the sea wall so it invites you into the picture.
#4 again, good composure with seeing the bird off to the right and letting the plant give asymmetrical balance to the photo.
#5 i love how the corner of the dock points to the same place where the clouds are "pointing" at the edge fo the land. shooting the corner of the dock is much more interesting that if we just saw one edge horizontally across the pic. It leads my eye into the picture. nice exposure. the horizon line is a little crooked (i do that all the time). taht can be easily rotated in photoshop and recropped. (maybe an upcoming post)
